The Calm Before The Storm

Tropical Storm Elsa Scheduled For A Direct Hit Tomorrow AM

So, the calm before the storm is actually a real thing.

Tropical Storm Elsa is heading directly for Newport right now packing winds anywhere from 30-60 knots depending upon which way her actual track moves. If she heads a bit offshore, we will be happy, if she heads inland a bit we’ll get the brunt of the storm.

Morpheus is tied to a NYYC mooring. In general, I’d prefer to be on my own anchor gear but the Newport anchorages are very exposed and here on the mooring we may have strong winds, but the sea state will not be an issue.

Stand by for updates….
