Travis and I were enjoying a nice slow dinghy ride around the corner from Robinhood Marina and suddenly a whale that looked just like the one in this picture surfaced to say hello on its way by!!
Wow! That certainly got my attention and our dog Travis just about had a heart attack. I think it may have been the first time he realized that something else lives down in the water that surrounds our boat.
A little later when we got back to Morpheus to tell Deb our story, the whale ended up “following us” and made a close pass of Morpheus while continuing on most likely hunting for food.
We think it was a Minke whale which I am told is very common along the coast of Maine at this time of year.
