    1. Bob,
The marine version draws twice as much power and I’ve been offshore on other boats with this antenna and it’s been GREAT! I think if you had a mission critical need the other antenna would be the right choice. But, what we are doing does not qualify as mission critical!!

Starlink is a game changer for sure. Never imagined something like this would exist when we left SF years ago!!

    1. I signed up for regional roaming for now. $150/m. But, when we head to the Caribbean we will need to upgrade to the next roaming plan that allows you to travel globally. In fact it may be called global roaming.

Note: neither plan covers offshore access, for that I will need to “flip the switch” to enable $2/gb priority data.

We did this on my friends boat sailing from BVI to Newport and it worked great!!

      1. Thanks. The reason I am asking is that Starlink will be used by some boats in the next Pac Cup race. Sounds like they will need the “Starlink Roam” plan to go from SF to KYC.

Does the the Roam plan include offshore access?

      2. No not unless you energize the $2/gb switch. It is not automatic.

I used starlink I. The Transpac. So good!
