Morpheus was designed by Carl Schumacher, built by Davie Norris Boatbuilders in New Zealand and launched in 2002. She spent her first 18 months cruising the South Pacific before reaching her home port of San Francisco. Since that time, Morpheus has been raced and cruised extensively. This blog will document her ongoing adventures.

I believe 40 pounds is the minimum weight necessary to properly weight a body for a burial at sea. I suspect you are provisioning Morpheus for the Atlantic crossing, in case there are any discipline issues with the crew.

To make you feel better. In 2007 we repositioned a small launch from the East Coast to California and that crew ran into 5 hurricanes or significant troical storms. It made a 30 day trip into a 75 day trip. They were getting paid though.
