Bermuda to Antigua – Day 3

Success!! (so far)

We left Bermuda on Nov 1st 2 hours after my brother landed. Our goal was to leave right after one system blew through, betting that we could stay ahead of the next and reach a well defined (and forecasted) weather “fence” with the storms to the North and fine sailing to the south.

We crossed into the area of light winds last night and declared our departure strategy a success. I must admit that it didn’t feel like the right thing to do as we hoisted anchor in 25 knots of wind and torrential rain. But, that weather was gone before we left the harbor and its been relatively smooth sailing for us ever since!

I took the two pictures below at about 4am this morning. One with flash, one without. It’s amazing what iPhone cameras can do these days.

Check out the stars in the second picture!
